    Consider Your Calling

    April 2, 2018 Josie Postma

When I came back home from Peru, I didn't really know what to expect. It was hard at first; as I jumped right back into my old habits.

After a few days of sleeping in, I made the attempt to have a quite time with the Lord every morning. But between the busyness of life, and the lack of ability to wake up at six every morning, I found it hard to connect with God as I did in Peru. And quite frankly I still do.

When I was at work, shortly after returning home, I was reading my Bible during my break. And one of the verses said "consider your calling...," this stuck out to me, and immediately I messaged my parents and asked them if we could get together and discuss my calling.

When I was in Peru I expected to have a "big reveal" moment, like in those house renovation shows. I expected to get all the answers immediately. My life would be changed and set. I wanted so badly to understand God's plan for my life! But God answered this prayer and wish in a different way.

A little while ago, I began reading Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves. Although I am not all the way through it yet, I have discovered through it, and through the talk with my parents, what my current calling is. And here is the "big reveal" moment. To love and serve the people that come into my life. This is my calling! This is why I am on this earth. This is why I was chosen, by God, to go to Peru.

This is how I want to live now that I am back in Canada. Of course I am going through other things. But I would say that this is the biggest thing.

To love and serve people in my home, work, and youth group is the biggest honour and privilege this young lady could ever ask for! And at this point in time it's all I really need.

Thank you so much for reading!
