    An absolute amazing expereince

    March 14, 2018 Njeri Mwangi

Hi I’m Njeri Mwangi, and I’m from Glengate Alliance Church.

I am one of the missionaries that was given an opportunity to attend this wonderful trip. The experience has been absolutely fantastic! The people, culture, and food have been nothing more than amazing. As a team, we have recently visited lots of places such as, Amijai. Spending some time with the people, and seeing the smiles on all of their faces has really shined a bright light into my life. This has helped me realize, that I don’t need to give a significant amount of money, or do anything that would make peoples head turn, to change the lives of the people that we are serving. I have learned that the one of the most precious things that I can give to someone is my time. It is sometimes easy to miss, because we associate the price tag with how much we care about someone, the more expensive the object, the more love we have for that person. However, those types of materials will be gone as soon as they came. Time is something that you cannot place a tag on, making it priceless. Coming here and learning the ways of the people, has not only impacted me, but my teammates as well, taking this experience and holding it close to our hearts.  Although the time we have here is short, we will not waste our time. We will have taken in as much as we can, not only helping those we serve, but also learning from them too.

Njeri. Thank you for this block. Time is a precious gift. It is so hard to use it wisely. I hope you have learned some great lessons while in Peru and that a God will keep them close to your heart for years to come!

Hi Njeri! I loved reading your blog post! What an amazing truth, the value of giving of our time. It reveals a lot more about us to people than money, gifts or anything else ever could. When we share our lives with others, it goes the distance. So excited for all you are able to experience on this trip and we are eager to hear more when you return!! :) Take care, Manuela
