    Student Blog 1- Mandy Dunmore

    March 19, 2020
    Hola!

My name is Mandy Dunmore and I am one of the students who has been blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of Mission Peru 2020!
The past few days we have been settling into a new routine in light of our now extended stay in Trujillo, and this new routine has been a true comfort and help. We begin our days with worship, an encouraging way to get into a positive attitude for the day, and then with devotions and private reflection. Today, we did some outdoor work on the compound, continued in our bible study of 1st Peter as a group, and enjoyed some free time doing many things like playing card games, finishing a volleyball tournament, and just hanging out together.
As unexpected as our change of plans has been, I personally have enjoyed the prospect of having lots of time to study God's word and grow deeper in my relationships with others and with Christ. At home in Canada, I often find it difficult to set aside a long portion of time to read my bible and dwell on its teachings, but in my free time here in Peru, I have been able to read more than I usually do and I have enjoyed this blessing. With the additional time that we now have, I also look forward to being able to get to know my team members better and to grow in unity and fellowship.
God is good and is working all things together for His plan even when we cannot see what His plan is. I feel fortunate to have been able to be pushed to trust God in this experience, and I look forward to being able to trust Him and lean into His comfort and guidance in the coming days.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support, it has been incredibly encouraging!
Please pray that we would continue to serve God whole-heartedly during our time in Peru and grow in Christ together!
