    Student Blog 3- Judith Romero

    March 24, 2020
Hi everyone, my name is Judith and I am one of the team members that are down in Peru right now. Today I have the chance to share with all of you, a bit on how we are doing. As most of you know, our team, as well as many other people around the world, are going through a challenging time. It is often easy to feel discouraged and disappointed during times like this, but thanks to my amazing team here in Peru, I have been able to find a great amount of joy instead. Through this experience of being stuck in Peru, I have gotten the opportunity to observe and get to know my team so much more, and one thing that I find very inspiring and motivating is getting to see how much each person has been able to grow in relationships with each other. I have gotten to the opportunity to see how all the people on our team have grown closer to each other than we once were. I have seen friendships become stronger through prayer over each other, and time spent together. I have seen how new friendships have started and are continuing to grow, and it is such an encouragement to see how our team has been able to become stronger even when going through a hard time. As of right now, our team gets to connect with each other through the worship we do, through our bible study of the book of 1 Peter, we connect through games and conversations, eating times, sports, and so much more. I know that for me personally, I have been so inspired when I see friends encouraging each other, praying over each other, and laughing together. We recently had our talent show and putting that on, created such a fun and enjoyable environment where everyone was laughing and supporting one another. Today we got to play floor hockey, and it was such a great experience to see how everyone played together as a team and had fun with each other. I know that even though we all miss our families and are eager to get home soon, that we have all really enjoyed being able to connect with each other and learn things from one another that we did not know before. I am so thankful that I have this time to grow closer with the people on this team and I know that I will never forget the friendships made during this mission. I want to thank all of you for your prayers for us and I want to let you know that we are also praying for you as well. I hope you all have a great rest of the day!
